Useful Real World Python Libraries

I am listing here all the Python libraries which are important –

  1. IpythonJupyter >>–> It is a command shell for interactive computing in multiple programming languages, offers introspection, rich media, shell syntax, tab completion, and history. The Jupyter notebook is much enhanced version.
  2. Pandas >>–> Powerful data manipulation and analysis package built on Numpy.
  3. Geopy >>–> Used locate the coordinates of addresses, cities, countries, and landmarks across the globe.
  4. Numpy >–> Used for scientific computing with Python. a powerful N-dimensional array object, sophisticated (broadcasting) functions, tools for integrating C/C++ and Fortran code, useful linear algebra, Fourier transform, and random number capabilities.
  5. OpenCV >–> Popular library for computer vision. Uses machine learning algorithms to search for faces within a picture.
  6. Folium >–> Easy to visualize data that’s been manipulated in Python on an interactive Leaflet map.
  7. Flask >–>It is a microframework for Python used for building web applications.
  8. Virtualenv >–> Is a tool to create isolated Python environments
  9. Psycopg2 >–> PostgreSQL database interacts with python programming language using this library.
  10. Pyinstaller >–> Python programs are converted into stand-alone executable

How AI could be constructive or destructive?

I am not even close to studying or working on AI but when I look into futuristic AI, it feels like it can make many sit idle at home and less humane. Why is it that humans are creative, passionate and at the same time less predictable, being THE gadget in universe. By reading the news daily on latest technologies automation I understand that it is good that we are making progress but at the same time we are making ourselves lazy too. I am also a Software Engineer where we sometimes automate report generation as it they are too repetitive and boring. But imagine a world where everything is automated like Driving, Preparing Food, Hospital experience, Customer Support, Navigation, Teaching etc.

I recall my childhood where we used to play outdoor games all the time in the evenings and not to mention during summer vacations. As kids most skills like motor, cognitive, communication and social skills are built in by going out and playing those outdoor activities. These days it is the gadgets which hold the children back to play games. It has drastically changed the lifestyle of most families.

Looking at AI, I wonder we have made prediction easy like Weather Forecast, but we have never thought that this could make us store water for future as the world is currently facing huge water crisis. In fact, AI can see and predict emotions underneath a human, but it is so sad that we may cannot rely on a neighbor or friend to communicate our emotions, we need a robot to understand those emotions. This could program all extroverts as introverts. Humans will never value a human in future. Also, there is no room for improvement for humans. Looks like this can be a road to self extinction.

The next part is human creativity. If our daily tasks are done by a robot, then humans will not use brains. These days we don’t remember cell numbers and addresses or even streets due to mobile phones. In fact we use calculators even for simple mathematics. Even music industry has automated music, they can get lakhs of tunes by algorithms stored in their hard disks. In my opinion humans are born to keep doing some tasks. In fact every one has to do something. Due to AI, situations could lead to job losses in various sectors. Imagine automated companies with max. 10 employees rest jobless and at home. To benefit few companies, many people have to remain jobless.

I conclude that AI is only good for complex tasks which humans cannot perform easily or which might be beyond human capability. If AI could treat human issues easily, improve them daily, make good for disabled. Creating AI for anticipating any long term good for society is always welcome. AI should be one of the channel to preserve natural resources, heritage, its animals who would be extinct in a while. It should be part of solution for issues like Global Warming. I am waiting for AI to predict count of trees to be required in each areas to get us rains. Also, change is the only constant for human evolution.

The magic of TV Series

Listening to stories can be quite addicting if there is a good story teller.Be it any story, even if ‘Monkey and the Cap Seller’ is to be passed on the teller can make it interesting enough to add more drama and fun side to make it exciting journey until the end. The audience likes to be glued to that fantasy world until the end. End could be happy or sad doesn’t matter.

I have been glued to the TV series of late and it is not that I am watching those first time however the picture and characters are so influencing that you cannot leave it.

Some of it really has made some sense to us because of the reality and sincerity of true events and stories around it. These series are a quite balanced on their own since it has drama, crime, detective, comedy, fantasy, thrillers etc.

  1. Dexter
  2. Prison Break
  3. The Mentalist
  4. Sherlock
  5. Homeland
  6. Lost
  7. How I Met your Mother
  8. Friends
  9. Big Bang Theory

I would want to watch more of them if the content is interesting and innovative.

Any more you know?

There is no tomorrow

There have been quite a lot of people in my life lately who have changed my life drastically. Some are close ones, some are great speakers, while rest are lives of daily people. I have been in lot of stress since 3-4 months whereas they have reduced too quickly I must say.

I always went round and round on chasing my dreams, it means I came back to square one. I felt dejected and again I struggled to think and think. But, I realized that overthinking pulled me back. Let me give you a quick tip, that think while you work on one thing at one time, if you want to multi-task it can hit you back. We have to observe our thoughts to let it subside and finally, when mind is clear you can pull off any tough task.

Secondly, my notion on people and thoughts are not my responsibilty, this is what I thought, however, it was my ego which made me think only about myself and not others. Now, I realize that if I am a modern thinker, I don’t need to get angry. Accept whatever comes to you, whoever hurts you. Mind even in serene can take all of them and it passes through you and you will never know.

Thirdly, my smile has been back which I was searching since a very long time. It was in me and I felt that I was costing me something ?? 😦 Now the same is back 🙂

I will continue writing soon. I should, I will take time back to balance.

Lessons learnt from : The Next Three Days

Of late I am at home due to back pain at home and watching movies.

This movie really moved me and gave me something to think. I was inspired by the character John Brennan which will make me remember his tough times during mine.

When his wife was falsely jailed for murder and he knew she was innocent. He blanked out with the turn of events in his life and he realizes that he has to do what is right when his lawyer leaves no hope for him.

1. Never give up on your belief

When his lawyer says that the case ended up dead. John felt betrayed and thinking they never tried to find out the truth.

No matter what people say if we believe in truth we have to protect that belief. Either convince the truth with people who don’t believe us or run away from negative people.

John -You never believed in her innocence

2. Our belief in our selves

When we know something is wrong and we have no power to change it. We should take the matter and change it ourselves than just going through.

John: So, the life in times of Don Quixote, what is it about?

Female College Student: That someone’s belief in virtue is more important than virtue itself?

John: Yes… that’s in the there. But what is it about? Could it be how rational thought destroys your soul? Could it be about the triumph of irrationality and the power that is in that? You know, we spend a lot of time trying to organize the world. We build clocks and calendars and we try to predict the weather. But what part of our life is truly under our control? What if we choose to exist purely in a reality of our own making? Does that render us insane? And if it does, isn’t that better than a life of despair?

3. Doing your homework

John knew that if he had to jail break the toughest jail he had to take an expert opinion. For any goal to achieve we have to do our home work or practice to know the ground rules.

John: How did you get caught?

Escape Expert: I just gave up myself in

Today my friend lost his Mom I am…

Today my friend lost his Mom. I am deeply sad. I wonder how God plays tricks with his own creations. When he created human beings why did he not create certain humans who would treat Cancer. Why is he still waiting for any human to discover the treatment. Does he not know that down here there are bunch of lazy people caring only about money and not people. I wish God could read this note and make some exceptions to create a cure.
